Email Campaigns – quick start guide
MatchPoint includes an email campaign tool (powered by Campaign Monitor, similar to Mailchimp) for sending bulk emails to your members or competition players.
Getting access
- Open Email Campaigns from the menu. The first time, click REQUEST CAMPAIGN ACCOUNT. It can take a few minutes to set up.
- Using Safari? If the page is blank, open MatchPoint in Chrome. A Safari security setting blocks the embedded campaign tool.

Request a campaign account the first time.

The Email Campaigns home page.
1. Check your lists
Click See all subscriber lists to open Lists and subscribers. You can send to:
- MatchPoint Membership: all members of your club/region who have an email address. Members without an email address aren't included.
- Competition mailing lists: everyone registered in a competition. These are off by default. Turn on the list in the Competition Mailing List section of the competition dashboard, and re-sync it at any time.
- Member groups: subsets of your membership. Create a group under Membership › Member Groups and switch on its email campaign channel.

Lists and subscribers.
Lists update automatically overnight. If you've just changed member details and need them updated now, go to Email Campaigns › Synchronise and click SYNC / RE-SYNC NOW.

Synchronise your lists straight away.
Each email address can only belong to one member, so families sharing an address will only receive one copy.
2. Create a campaign
Click Create a campaign. Rename it with the pencil icon, then work through the checklist:

The campaign checklist.
1. Subject: click Add subject, enter the subject line (and optional preview text), then Save.

Add the subject line.
2. From: click Add sender. Enter your club or region name as the Sender name. For the email address we recommend noreply on the MatchPoint domain so emails don't bounce. Tick Use a different email address for replies and enter your own club/region address so replies come to you. Click Save.
3. To: click Select recipients and tick one or more lists, then Save. You can tick several lists; duplicate addresses are removed automatically and the Total unique recipients count shows how many people will receive it.

Choose one or more lists.

Duplicates across lists are removed.
3. Design your email
- Click Design email and browse the templates. Pick one you like.
- In the builder, edit the text, headings and buttons (e.g. "Competition entries now open" with a button linking to your entry page).
- Replace images, upload your own logo, and delete any rows you don't need.
- Click Save and next.
4. Test and send
- Click Prepare to send.
- Preview on desktop and mobile, and send a test to yourself.
- When you're happy, send the campaign.
Unsubscribes
- Every campaign email automatically includes an unsubscribe link.
- Unsubscribed people stay on the list but are marked Unsubscribed and won't receive future campaigns.
- Members who have been archived in MatchPoint show as Deleted and are removed from mailing lists.

An unsubscribe link is added to every email.
