Identifiers explained: NIN, Tournament ID and WTN
There are three identifiers across the New Zealand tennis systems. Knowing which one is which helps avoid most duplicate-record confusion.
| Identifier | Issued by | What it's for |
|---|---|---|
| NIN (National ID Number) | MatchPoint | Your national identity number in MatchPoint. It's used to sign in and to find members when searching or transferring them between clubs. |
| Tournament ID | Tournament software | A separate identifier used only by the tournament platform. |
| WTN (World Tennis Number) | ITF | The main identifier that links everything. It should be the same in the tournament software and in MatchPoint, and it builds up your match record for your rating. |
Why your WTN matters
Both tournament results and MatchPoint results update your WTN record match by match. Having the same WTN in every system keeps your rating accurate.
If you think you have two records or your WTN looks wrong, contact your club administrator.
