Lock Team Changes
By default, anyone who has entered a competition can keep editing their entry (team name, players) after self-registration closes. If you want entries frozen at the closing date, turn on Lock entries once self-registration closes.
How it works
- The setting is off by default.
- When it's on, entrants can edit their entry up until the self-registration closing date. From midnight on that date, the entry is locked.
- Example: self-registration closes on 29 September. A team that entered on 10 September can change its entry until 29 September, then it's locked.
- Competition organisers can still add or remove players and update entries after the lock.
- Entrants can still update their team's Primary Contact details.
Turn it on
- Open the competition and go to its settings.
- Tick Lock entries once self-registration closes.
- Check the self-registration closing date is the date you want entries to lock.
- Save.
Things to know
- It's set per competition. It can't currently be set once for a whole competition group, so turn it on in each competition.
- There's one deadline. The lock follows the self-registration closing date. There isn't a separate deadline for team entry and for adding players to the team.
- It carries over when you copy. Settings are copied with the competition, so setting it up in a template competition saves you doing it each time (see Copy a competition).
